What we’re known for
When it comes to finding something interesting to try the options are nearly endless from adventurous burgers, Mile high nachos and locally-brewed beers to healthy salads, vegetarian dishes and unique fusion cuisine from around the world. Here’s a look at some of the restaurants that make a vacation in Myrtle Beach so special:
Seafood Restaurants
Myrtle Beach boasts some of the best seafood in the world, living up to its reputation with a bevy of seaside restaurants serving up succulent seafood dishes and amazing oceanfront views. Depending on your taste, you can enjoy either the golden brown battered and fried goodness of Calabash-style seafood or the fresh caught Murrells Inlet- style cuisine served up in a town that’s known as the “seafood capital of South Carolina.” From huge seafood buffets to fine dining restaurants and quaint seafood shacks there are plenty of choices. See which spots our visitors think serve the best seafood.
Oceanfront Dining
Some of the most special and unique eateries in Myrtle Beach are those where you can enjoy a delicious meal while watching the waves with a magnificent ocean view. There are plenty of waterfront dining options along the Grand Strand including seafood restaurants, steakhouses and even top-notch hotels with restaurants. You’ll also find plenty of fun, friendly beachfront bars and laid-back beachy eateries that offer up generous portions of gourmet snacks, cocktails at sunset and a carefree atmosphere. Check out some of our favorite waterfront restaurants.
BBQ Joints
South Carolina is home to some of the best barbecue in the nation. Sure Kansas City, Texas and others may argue theirs is better, but according to the locals you can’t beat the down-home southern cookin’ that culminates in a perfectly sauced batch of pulled pork. While many of the best barbecue and soul food restaurants don’t like look much on the outside, it’s what inside that counts … heaping helpings of pulled pork, collard greens, sweet potatoes and fried foods that will fill you up right. From Prosser’s in Murrells Inlet to Big D’s and Little Pigs BBQ in Myrtle Beach and even Radd Dew’s out in Conway, there are plenty of great restaurants for great barbecue. But don’t just trust us, see what other visitors had to say about the best BBQ spots.
Steakhouses
Vacation is the perfect time to let loose, splurge a little and try that massive steak you would typically pass on at home. Good thing Myrtle Beach has tons of top-notch steakhouses serving up the finest cuts of beef for you to enjoy. When it comes to steak spots we’ve got a little bit of everything from fine dining at Greg Norman’s and 21 Main to family-friendly places like Thorny’s and Angelos to Japanese Hibachi Steakhouses like Yamato and Miyabi. There’s even golfer haven’s like Chuck’s Steakhouse and unique all-you-can-eat spots like Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse. Here’s some of the steakhouses our visitors suggest.
Variety Galore
The Myrtle Beach restaurant scene is famous for many things, but perhaps the best part of all is the variety and sheer number of eateries here that make dining out one of the most popular activities around. In 2013, the area was named by Huffington Post as one of the Top 15 “restaurant-crazy cities” citing research that counted more than 1,700 restaurants in the Myrtle Beach/Florence area (that’s one restaurant for every 416 residents). In addition to all the awesome options mentioned above some other popular choices for visitors include romantic restaurants, mile-long buffets, exciting dinner shows, iconic burger joints and awesome food festivals. And if you’re looking for something a little different you can also find Indian, Irish, Ethiopian, Austrian, Vegetarian, German, Greek, Jamaican, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Kosher cuisine at a moment’s notice.
