17. Skating

For generations, skating of all sorts has been a popular youth pastime around the world, and here on the Grand Strand. Whether gliding around the roller skating rink to the latest hit song or defying gravity on the ramps of the local skateboard park, the Grand Strand offers several options. As popular options for birthday parties and youth activities, the skating centers are well maintained and professionally staffed. At the roller skating rinks, skillful DJ’s play family-friendly versions of hit songs, while kids of all ages and abilities dart around the rink. Contests and crowd participation keep the good times rolling. Those seeking a break from the action can visit the arcade, or enjoy a soda or hot dog from the refreshment bar. Other attractions include Laser Tag and Mini Roller Ball, an adaptation of traditional bowling geared toward the littlest ones in your group.

Grand Park Rink

from 1 reviews

Located at the Market Common’s huge Grand Park Athletic Complex, this inline hockey rink is a great place for inline skating that’s outdoors and doesn’t cost a dime. Hockey fans can find other players practicing or playing pick-up games at various times throughout the week and this park is also close to lots of great places to skate — includes a nearly mile-long path that wraps around its huge manmade lake.
